Peter and The Wolf

Each spring, Mid Columbia Ballet presents Peter and The Wolf, the famous Russian childrenís tale set to Sergei Prokofievís iconic symphony for children, to local elementary schools. Each character in Peter and The Wolf is represented by a different symphony instrument, and is often used to introduce younger audiences to classical music and ballet, and the relationship between the two. The Mid-Columbia Ballet (MCB) Junior Company and Trainee Company perform this ballet. Choreographed by Debra Pearse Rogo, this 20 minute production with a cast of 10 is not just great entertainment; it also provides students with an education in the arts. The performance is followed by a question and answer period.
